I previously had WiFi Internet access working with Vista, but having restarted my cable modem, I can't get it back up. I have the same problem as others have mentioned: the WiFi network is found, but connects with "limited connectivity" (i.e. local, no Internet).
1) I have deleted IPV6 and QoS and disabled the Link Layer bits. I have disabled power management features on the wireless adapter. None of this solves the problem.
2) My router does not have SPI firewall (but does have NAT). Also, since I have previously had this working, I don't believe its a router, network card or driver problem.
3) I have tried to input the IP & DNS details manually. To do this, I have typed Ipconfig /all on another machine connected to my network over wifi and copied the IP, DNS, Gateway details straight across (am I supposed to give the Vista machine a different IP address)? When I do this, Vista claims to have Internet connection, but when I try to visit a web page I get a DNS error.
4) Finally, I can't get ipconfig renew and refresh to work on Vista.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

WiFi - Limited connectivity - Tried ALL advice
I moved my computer so that it is in range of the cable modem and connected it directly to the modem, bypassing the router.
....and I still get no Internet access. One more evening of trying and I'm giving up.
Any last things to try?

I noticed where DHCP was disabled on my wireless connection, and replaced with with DNS entries.. I re-enabled DHCP and did away with any suffixes and have no issues with connectivity before or after sleep or hibernation. I hope this works for you, so far it has for me. DCSC.
